Members of the Puppy Raising Project for the 4H Club Seeing Eye program representing Cumberland, Gloucester and Burlington counties in New Jersey visited Fort Delaware State Park on Sunday, June 13th bringing their young dogs in training. The tour group was led by Joan Maloney, Club Leader for the Puppy Power 4-H Club of Cumberland County.

Puppies are provided by The Seeing Eye and raisers teach them basic obedience skills according to The Seeing Eye guidelines. At 13 to 15 months of age, the puppy is brought back to The Seeing Eye in Morristown, New Jersey for formal training. After four months, the dog is matched with a student and they train together for an additional month.

For more information about the Puppy Raising Project, visit the Cumberland County website at  www.cc4hpuppypower.org  or call (856) 455-0026.
