The Civil War Institute at Manor College sponsors a one day program open to the public at the Manor College campus in Jenkintown, Pennsylvania. This year's 3rd Annual program was presented on Saturday, August 15, 2009 the theme of "Citizen Soldiers in the Civil War". 

Society Board Member David Price made a presentation entitled "The Charleston Affray" introducing the topic of Illinois civilian detainees held at Fort Delaware in 1864.

The Fort Delaware Society has supported this event since its inauguration with an information table and a guest speaker.
